We should dump all the high priced vehicles for the multi-purposed El Camino.
I'm inclined to think the best way is to have a common platform as long as it makes sense. If the platform doesn't really work for a particular task, then make one that is suited for the task. I think this was forgotten in Iraq and Afghanistan - the HMMWV is not an APC/AFV/etc...
