Individuals volunteered, underwent the same pre-deployment training as the regulars integrated with them, and performed the same tasks. And unless you work for the public sector (and maybe not even then) there is no protection for your job while you are away. It was much the same in Afghanistan; reservists of all ranks served - in fact, the last Canadian to leave Afghanistan was a reserve LCOL (who took a demotion to MAJ) who had been training the ANP (I know, because he was my company commander, Back In The Day).Brianhttp://brtrain.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
