We pick on the French a bunch here because, well... because they're French. But they got something right this past week.
Blackfive.net has a great little column on a retired Army colonel who was a paratrooper in WWII and was one of the first guys to land in Normandy, as a pathfinder with 505 PIR. In
the blog post about the good colonel Blackfive notes that the French memorialized one of the guys who helped liberate their country:
Colonel Murphy passed away on Friday after a fight with cancer. On Sunday, 2,000 townspeople of St. Mere-Eglise turned out for a funeral to honor him.
