India is set to sign a 1.2-billion-dollar order for 29 Russian MiG-29K fighter jets for the Indian Navy, a newspaper reported Monday.
A Russian team is to arrive this week in New Delhi to finalize the sale after the Indian government cleared the acquisition, the Times of India said, citing defence sources.
The 29 MiG-29Ks would supplement 16 similar aircraft contracted for purchase in January 2004.
India's Defence Ministry also renegotiated the terms of the sale of the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov, to be rechristened the INS Vikramaditya, the report said.
