Following Up The Gates Article Earlier Today

Just kinda proving his point, here's a list from WaPo on government contracts, just for capital-area companies for this year. The defense-related totals?
1.076 billion. Yes, with a "b".

Oh, and that doesn't include this one:
CACI-WGI of Chantilly, SRA International of Fairfax, Jacobs Technology of Tampa, Fla., and Booz Allen Hamilton of McLean won a minimum guarantee per prime contract award and a $1.5 billion maximum ceiling from the U.S. Special Operations Command to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform the services and provide support to all mission areas of USSOCOM.


Folks, that's over 2.5 billion defense dollars being spent in commuting distance of DC alone.
