There's all sorts of news floating around today on DADT.
A federal judge has ordered the military to stop pitching people out under DADT which is leaving the Pentagon in limbo on how to proceed with day-to-day business. The SecDef is arguing - rightly so - that the courts should not be setting policy and that abruptly halting the ban could be very disruptive to current operations. Of course, that presupposes the Congress and the Pentagon do it themselves instead of letting it twist in the wind.
The White House, with the power to change it, is saying that the ban is likely nearing the end of its lifespan. They should know, eh?
And the judge in the case? Colleagues of all political stripes are very careful not to paint her as some crusading activist.
