Wednesday Wargaming

This week in history I thought I’d look at things through the birth of historical figures. One of my favorites is Thomas Paine, author of Common Sense. Paine’s work was extraordinarily influential in helping to coalesce the spirit of independence seething in America with the concept of government formed by a Constitution and powers separated by checks and balances against each other. The result is a nation that had the blueprint to prevent excess and oppression of the people. Its brilliance is resonant even today.

Born on the 29th of January in 1737, it seems fitting to look at wargames that cover the result of his work: The American Revoluion. The list is enormous; I will list a few of the better ones but would encourage readers to go beyond this if they’re at all interested in the subject.
