Is there another "flip" going on in Pakistan? In a briefing to reporters earlier this month General David McKiernan, ISAF Commander in Afghanistan, hinted that the Pakistani government was working with tribal leaders in Waziristan to rid themselves of Al-Qaeda. Specifically, the General said, "We have seen some reports of local tribal leaders and tribes acting against some of the militant sanctuaries in the tribal areas in Pakistan, and we think that's an encouraging development."
Stay tuned for further developments.
