This week, we've got a multi-pack of Afghanistan games that look at the '80s war there with the Russians and the Mooj...
There was Holy War: Afghanistan
This one also has it's own board at CSW.
There was also Afghanistan 1980
There's the simply-named Afghanistan
And finally Kabul '79, in the S&T issue with Cold War Battles 2.
Both games (Wurzburg Pentomic is the other) are discussed in the same place on CSW.

I have all of these, but havent' assembled the Afghanistan 1980 game.
Holy War Afghanistan was very inspiring and the best of the bunch IMO; Afghanistan was a somewhat muddled Perry Moore game, couldn't make up its mind what it was. I thought the Kabul game should have used a system other than Modern Battles; I know that Berlin 85 used it and that established precedent, but I'm not sure it was appropriate for urban combat. (Wurzburg Pentomic is lots of fun, though!)
