A better soundtrack than this wistful guitar music might be these Legionnaires singing "En Afrique" (which is actually the old German paratrooper march "Auf Kreta" with different lyrics):

(It's always a little odd to see Legionnaires marching at 88 paces -It seems so slow and must really screw up parades, in my Highland regiment we marched at 110 and that bugged everyone else, who marched at 120.)
