The UK Defence Ministry has informed that only one helicopter is now ready for frontline combat operations. There are three helicopters but they can use only one.
The Telegraph has mentioned that, this has been due to wear and tear in the machines. The dust and excessive heat in the Helmand Desert in south Afghanistan have created huge damage in the helicopters. And only for that reason British troops are failed to take on the Taliban at the mean time.
Out of 67 helicopters, for the front line operations in Afghanistan to train pilots only 18 are available in UK.
