UK Power Changes Hands

David Cameron is going to try to rule with a coalition that includes the Lib Dems. Good luck.

David Cameron is beginning his first full day as Britain’s new Prime Minister. The Conservative leader will rule with the Liberal Democrats in the first coalition government since World War Two. The new Prime Minister will reveal more details about his Cabinet team today. Already appointed are George Osborne as Chancellor, William Hague as Foreign Secretary and Liam Fox is Defence Secretary. Nick Clegg is Deputy PM with four of his colleagues taking on other roles in the Cabinet.

Starting to cut the budget deficit is thought to be the top priority for the new UK Government. But Nick Clegg has also been promised a referendum on the Alternative Voting system.
