Islam4UK, which calls itself a "platform" for extremist movement al-Muhajiroun, had planned the provocative march through Wiltshire town famous for honouring dead repatriated British troops.
The plan for 500 members of the group to carry empty coffins had been greeted with universal dismay with Gordon Brown calling it “abhorrent and offensive”.
